ABOUT THE HOUSING

 

WHERE WILL ATTENDEES BE STAYING?
All attendees will stay in the same extended stay hotel. The hotel rooms feature a kitchen, a small living area, and a double bedroom. The hotels have internet access and of course cable TV. We are very blessed to have such a great place to stay during the conference!

 

DO ATTENDEES LIVE ALONE OR STAY WITH ROOMMATES?
Attendees will have roommates. Gate will strive to find a roommate with similar likes, dislikes, and lifestyle. The hotel only houses non-smoking rooms however smoking is allowed outside. Single bedrooms (rooms with no roommate) will incur an additional fee. All rooms are mini-suites.

 

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE ROOMMATES FOR THE PARTICIPANTS? 
When you fill out your application, you will notice the last page has a questionnaire which will provide us with the information we need to find you the best possible roommate. Our goal is to match you with someone who is similar to you in as many ways as possible. We will send you the information about your roommate in one of your post acceptance packets and there you can obtain what you need to contact him/her and build a relationship with them.

 

CAN I SWITCH ROOMMATES IF I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE WITH HIM/HER?
Although, with our footwork that should be rare, but switching is a possibility in a crisis.

CAN MARRIED COUPLES APPLY TOGETHER AND STAY TOGETHER?
Yes.

 

IF I KNOW PEOPLE IN NASHVILLE, CAN I STAY WITH THEM?
Yes, Gate has met and agreed that if you would like to stay with a friend in Nashville, we will drop the price $200. Please be sure to inform us that you will not be staying in provided housing via email or letter. Anyone staying off site will be required to get themselves to the hotel to ride the bus to and from the event site daily.

 

DO ATTENDEES EAT BREAKFAST ON SITE?  
Breakfast will be offered at the hotel. The hotel has both a nice continental breakfast and special request breakfasts are made individually for people at the window.

 

DO ATTENDEES TRANSPORT THEMSELVES TO THE WORKSHOP SITE?
A tour bus will pick up attendees at the hotel and transport them to the workshop site daily. Some attendees will leave the workshop site and directly go to their evening event sites via car, others will ride the bus back to the hotel.

 

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE A POOL AND WORKOUT ROOM? 
Yes.

 

IS THE HOTEL NEAR DOWNTOWN? 
The hotel is about 20 minutes south of Downtown Nashville.

 

IS THERE FOOD NEARBY?
Yes. The hotel is located in a primary shopping area in the greater Nashville area called "Cool Springs". The hotel has a free shuttle which runs throughout the area. There are a slew of restaurants within walking distance with foods ranging from American, to Japanese, to Thai, to Indian, to Cajun, to Mexican, to Italian, to Southern eats and even more located by shuttle with prices ranging from inexpensive to 4 star dining. You will not lack for food options. There are two grocery stores within shuttle distance. The hotel is also located within walking distance of the mall and Target. 

 

IS THE AREA SAFE FOR WALKING?
The hotel is located in Brentwood, Tennessee. South Brentwood is in Williamson County. Williamson County is one of the richest counties in the nation and yes it is where the "stars" live. It is definitely safe and comfortable for people visiting.

 

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE A CAFE AND A BAR?

Yes, it has both.
