KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS HURTING?
We all face "bad days". Sometimes it is the death of a
friend or family member, sometimes it is from losing a job,
dealing with a car accident, seeing someone you love going
to prison. There are thousands of challenges people face every
day and Gate Communications wants to help!
Sponsored in part by the ministry of Joni & Friends, Gate Communications has established a ministry called "The Barnabas Project". TBP was created specifically to help the Deaf Community (Deaf/HH individuals, Interpreters, CODA's, Teachers of the Deaf, etc) to face their most difficult challenges. The Barnabas Project can't solve someone's problems but it does ease the pain people face when dealing with the hurts of today.
WHAT DOES THE BARNABAS PROJECT DO?
TBP takes a week to send cards, gifts, gift certificates, candy, books, movies... anything that can put a smile on the faces of hurting people. It is FREE! Can you imagine receiving the news you have cancer, and in the midst of tears a few days later, in the mailbox comes cards of encouragement, followed by a book about facing cancer, followed by candy, followed by added homemade treats. We have had people tell us, "I wouldn't have gotten through [my problem] without Barnabas."
WHY DO WE GIVE AWAY THESE FREE GIFTS?
Gate wants to change the world, one person at a time. What better way than to add a smile to the face of a hurting person? It's a practical way to show the love of Christ to the Deaf Community.
